Our home pool for all levels is at the K. Mark Takai Veterans Memorial Aquatic Center in Waipi’o. This pool has a diving well with multiple boards and changes between 20 lanes - 25 yards during short coarse season and 10 lanes - 50 meters during long course season.

Robert has 3 boys at AAA…Makana (16 - junior), Kala’i (10 - silver), and La’akea (8 - bronze).

When not selling acoustic, ceiling, or insulation building materials as a small business owner, he loves hanging out at three tables with his fam (and dog) or trying to keep the garage clean (which he says he’s losing that battle).

Erin has Robert beat with 4 kids at AAA, Ethan (18 - junior), Oakley (16 - junior), Summer (11 - silver), and Skye (6 - green), and is a pediatric nurse when not running the kids all over the island as an unpaid Uber driver.

She’s not sure how being a runner most her life got her so deep in the swimming world but it probably comes from her love of water sports (water skiing, paddle boarding, snorkeling, and open water shark dives).

Kelly has 1 of her twins, Neil (15 - gold), at AAA and is a recovery care coordinator at Schofield Barracks.

Both her and her husband are veterans, meeting and marrying while serving in the Army, and she’s been a federal employee for over 28 years, having worked in every branch of the military throughout that time.

Jennifer is proud mama to one of the FAAAST kids on our team, Chloe (16 - junior)…the youngest of her 4.

When not working for the City and County of Honolulu, she’s our record breaking fund raiser and unofficial snack shop for the team…always showing up to practices and meets with a bag full of goodies.

Michelle has 1 of 4 kids, Amelia (10 - silver), at AAA and is a freelance photojournalist, specializing in ethno-photography.

She’s independently published 2 books and a magazine, with a third book in the works now, and is a lifelong athlete that started distance swimming about 5 years ago. She’s also a micro-farmer, working with local non-profits to deliver produce to food insecure areas.

Carrie and Dan have 1 of 3 kids, Jayden (15 - junior), at AAA and are the Fun(d) Raisers of our team.

In the summertime, these two cut out for a couple of months and run away to another paradise…Alaska, working their family’s commercial fishing business where Dan can spend a month or longer out at sea.

Christine has 3 boys at AAA, Makana (16. junior), Kala’i (10 - silver), and La’akea (8 - bronze), and is what we’d call the better half of our Interim President, Robert Sonny Lessary.

She’s an Aloha Aquatics alumni and also swam for Mililani High School where Makana currently swims and is a sophomore.

Uncle Eddie has 1 boy, Edward (16 - junior), at AAA and has won Timer of the Year, four years in a row…even though he’s only been with the team for two (THAT is how much he times for us).

He loves the game of golf and is an equal opportunity cheer-er on-er…not only cheering for our kids but also for everyone else’s.

Kau’i is another proud mama to her 1 girl, Alana (15 - gold), but also secretly loves “embarrasing” her in front of her swim friends…asking them to take a million pictures at every meet.

She works for the State of Hawai’i during the week and is a picture taking, action shot making, chee ho-ing yelling aunty on swim weekends.

Jiny has 2 kids at AAA, Keahue (13 - silver) and Kaipolaua’e (11 - silver), and is basically a paid hippie…protecting native species in and around the Pacific as a biologist for US Fish and Wildlife Services.

She swam and played water polo throughout her youth and is fluent in ‘ōlelo hawai’i…so if you hear it, it could mean the kids are getting busted for something. Oh…she takes great pics too!

Josette and Jason have 3 kids, Jaelynn (13 - gold), Jolynn (12 - gold ), and Jewelynn (9 - bronze), and have been with AAA for a little over two years now.

They’re always doing something…so when they’re not busy with their careers in healthcare, they’re volunteering at their daughters' schools, running them to hula, and officiating at swim meets.

They’ve also both have been past presidents, which is why we call them our masterminds.

While on the subject of officiating, meet Ed Ganacial…AKA…Mr. Official.

Ed has 2 boys at AAA…Elijah (12 - gold) and Elliott (9 - silver), and while we’re not really sure what he does for a living, it’s probably only part time with all the officiating hours he racks up at swim meets.

He sometimes looks lonely on deck though…so if you’d want to join the Kokua Krew, I’m sure Ed would love to get you trained up as an officlal.
